Welcome!The York Area Homeschool Drama Camp and the Academy of Arts present an awesome drama opportunity for homeschoolers. Homeschoolers of all ages are invited to participate in a one-week Drama Camp to be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 2740 Roosevelt Avenue, York, PA. There will be two separate plays prepared and performed by the students; one for grades K-6, and the other for grades 7-12. Both groups receive a week of intensive training by a team from The Academy of Arts, a Christian drama and music ministry. www.theacademyofarts.org The K-6th grade students will be doing "Giving Thanks," a musical about our Pilgrim fathers that teaches the true meaning of thankfulness. Join Governor Bradford, Elder Brewster and others as they journey along the path of being thankful. (Elementary students not receiving a speaking part will be part of the choir and crowd scenes. All students will have an active part in the play.)
HELP NEEDED! The Homeschool Drama Camp Committee is looking for moms who would be willing to volunteer their time to be part of the Committee. Several of the moms who currently serve will be retiring from their positions on the committee due to their children graduating from high school in the next few years. The 7th-12th grade drama will be "Raise the Flag," the heroic story of the young Quaker boy, David Darragh, and his search for the true source of liberty. After losing his father, David is left to decide if he will follow the Quaker's peaceful ways.
